Er the vizunah cut scene does NOT count as a death. Only when you get killed does it count. When you fail a mission and everyone falls down dead does NOT count.

I know cos my ranger just did vizunah and is still on for the next level of survivor cos I just checked.

you must have died somewhere or you are dead during the cutscene due to some unknown reason like you are under degen conditions. another reason might because you die just before a cutscene during the mission(those mini cutscene), but you are res straght after the cutscene, so it might looks like you didnt die, but you actually did.

The cutscene at the end of the mission does not kill.

It sure counted as a death for me to.. and I did some experimenting with my monk.. It's the Cutscene that kills. If someone in the party doesnt skip.. u get a death.. and lose the chance at the title.. If the Entire clip is skipped.. u Dont get a death. Stupid.. I think so. I lost my assasin's second survivor because of it.

Read up.. Nearly 300k. I was rounding up the figures.

And I continued doing quests and such.. because I assumed that 1 death didnt count. At the END of vizunah.. I had 274 k.. and thats when the title stopped.

Tell me about it! I took weeks to get this one character the Survivor (1) title because I went that slowly and methodically making sure I didn't die. Like I said above, I'm 100%, without any shadow of a doubt, certain that I didn't die before that cutscene.

There's just too many people claiming that it counted as a death for it to be a one off abnormality. Perhaps there's a set of parameters that's allows the game to count it as a death in certain circumstances. All I know is that it counted as one for me.

I cant test this myself right now but i believe you.And in the cutscene where shiro does some weird skill ,he DOES kill you , along with everyone else in the parties.So if Anet didnt seperate that death from the/deaths list then they should now.I would say report.

Ah sorry, I just don't consider 274k to be "nearly 300k." I would take "nearly 300k" to mean 290k+, which is why I misunderstood.

And while I've never had a problem with Vizunah, I'm surprised to see all these others having problems with it. I guess that is something for Anet to look into then.

On another note, my Monk just got Survivor today :P

I have reported.. wich is what lead me to the forums. It was their suggestion to post and get other peoples ideas on the subject.

And.. unforutnalty the reply I got back was that they we not going to reset the deaths. So.. hopefully in the future the issue with Vizunah will be solved.. but I doubt those of us who have already lost the title because of it will never get it back unless new chars are remade. Oh well.. Guess my new mesmer will aim for the title now.

Congrats on earning the Survivor with your monk.

Ole Man.. not everyone uses PUG's when going for such a title. I'm sure many of us have realy awesome guildies.

I don't see how the people you play with, even in a PUG should care if the player is going for Survivor title. Atleast the way I've played my Survivor titles, I'm ready to accept the death, but I'll see how far I can get anyways. Different case ofcourse would be if the player either afk'd somewhere where he was at risk, or quitted mid mission or other similar shady stuff. I haven't seen it necessary to state that I'm going for the title, at best they'd just kick me for streotyping the "non-contributing afker/quitter"...

Ive been henching all my missions, the pug groups I have joined have just been plain stupid! I achieved my Survivor 1 in tyria 2 nights ago on my mesmer

really pleased, and Im only at sanctum cay! But i have completed every mission with bonus, and every quest available, so Im kind of on my my way to a second title too!

To answer the original question though, I had a bit of a harrowing experience the other night, I completed the bonus for sanctum cay, but hadnt "activated" the keep the Vizuh (whatever his name is

) dude alive bit, when i went back to the boat, there were a bunch of white mantle hanging about, as soon as I got in range, the last bit of the mission activated, and of course the Vizuh dude was killed straight away, which also meant me and the henchies died (mission failed)... my heart stopped at that point cos I thought I had just screwed up my title, but when i got back to sanctum, my death count was still 0 *sigh of relief*, so i believe, as it has been stated over and over, deaths as a result of mission failures, or game progressions, should\do not count.

there is a simple rule with a few exceptions of Cutscenes and NPC's getting killed, when your HP drops to 0 anywhere apart from those situatins your dead, simple as that. It really is simple to understand so lets not complicate it

For the people out there trying the VIZUNAH mission,

on Cutscene, the MINIONS are the one that will KILL you. Guranteed!!.
I have tested this before and received death count. Add the only way to survivor this, skip ASAP on the CUTSCENE like 1-2sec when cutscene start.

IF other PEOPLE dont skip, just quit the game. WHen u re-login, u will automatically goes to "DRAGON's THROAT" area instantly or the dragon throat area is available for you to continue to the next quest & mission.

Dont worry , u guys will still get the reward from the Vizunah mission.
